Docky: Adjust the individual volume for any application making noise
The aim is to adjust the volume for any application producing sound. The two main proposals have been either to put a slider directly into the context menu in Docky or to use a docklet and hotseat to show just the applications making noise.
A mockup for the first suggestion can be seen at http://
For the second there is a good detailed suggestion in the Whiteboard. I would add that the easiest solution for controlling the sound is to toggle mute on single-click and adjust the volume with the mouse-wheel over the icon. For feedback, we might use a tooltip showing the percentage.
However, showing a slider on single-click and an icon or checkbox for mute is another approach worth considering.

Suggestion: have a volume docklet where you can change volume on mouse scroll when hovering over it. Then when I click on the volume docklet (single click), it should go to hotseat view and give a list of running apps which are currently producing sound (hope there's not too many). For each of these running apps, I can hover over the corresponding icon and change the volume by mouse scroll.
Maybe also change volume level by sliders but I wonder if that's really necessary.
