elementary 'homespace' (desktop/widget layer/overview replacement)
Elementary doesn't allow the desktop space to be used. This has been somewhat controversial (although I would say only mildly so), but it does seem that there are good reasons for this. However, it seems to me that problems with the traditional desktop metaphor don't mean that this space should not be used at all. This blueprint is for discussion of whether elementary should implement an alternative use for this space, and if so how and what might we do.
See specification doc for full details.

Whiteboard
It seems to be a good idea to me.
By the way, this whiteboard is for status notes; cramming a specification in this plain text field is very inconvenient. Please move the specification to a google doc editable by everyone and link it to this blueprint as full specification URL. --shnatsel
Ah sorry, I'm new to launchpad. Moved. --Nico
I like the idea. I think it would make it a little more familiar to new users as well as provide some expected functionality even for advanced users. definitely worth looking into IMO. --VoxCannon
