Looks good. I wouldn't include switchboard on Plank though, as settings =! production apps. Perhaps include Marlin too? I'd put it before Midori even.

IMHO Marlin should be first and Switchboard last. If we hide Switchboard it won't be discoverable.
Maybe Maya should be accesible from date/time indicator instead of Plank?

No no, indicators should never be used as application launchers. And Maya does no harm in Plank. (And if we launched Maya from date/time indicator, why wouldn't we launch Postler and Empathy from messaging menu, BeatBox from sound menu etc.)

I would also put Marlin as the first and Switchboard as the last item in the dock. And I would probably take Lingo away, because as far as I know it's useless for people not speaking english.

Files won't go in the dock; we don't want to encourage users to mess around in the filesystem, and certainly not encourage it as a "favorite" app for every single user. As far as order, Noise and Shotwell are both orange and might look a little odd next to one another. We could probably have Dan or the design team agree on a final list/order and go for it. ~cassidyjames

Files is something that should definetely be in the dock. People should not have the trouble of searching for it on the menu and then rich click on the icon on the dock to keep it there. Everyone uses files very often. I spend entire days opening different PDF's and working on text and spreadsheet files. Sorry to disagree with you cassidyjames but files are something essential in all Operating Systems and should be accessible at all times.

We're not including Files on the dock for beta1. We'll wait for wider feedback before deciding to include it, but right now we feel it's important to not prioritize a filesystem-centric workflow. As far as being an essential in all operating systems, I'd like you to show me where the file browser launcher is in webOS, Android, iOS, and Windows 8. ~cassidyjames (with input from Daniel Fore)
