Portable OS version

Create a sustainable portable version of the OS to sell on LiveUSBs.
The Ubuntu way to do it is not sustainable because the OS image is read-only and any changes to it (including software updates) are stored separately in uncompressed form. Over time all the space on the LiveUSB gets goobbled up by the OS.
We need something better than that.
