improve usability when reading mail in evolution

Reading mail is one of the main drawbacks in evolution. Reading emails, jumping to the next unread mail and classifing a mail as junk should be available quickly with a single press on the keyboard. imagine how many times per day a user has to "go to next unread mail". In thunderbird this has been solved much better in my point of view. The period (.) key doesn't always work, depending on where the cursor is in evolution.
