Add Mozilla Thunderbird messaging client

there is some messaging clients who are planned to be added in the notifier.
My question is: is it possible to add Thunderbird ?
until now, evolution have better integration in Ubuntu (and Gnome in general) but , for me, Thunderbird is better.
Also there is many users who come from windows and familiar to Thunderbird.
