export-as-image-embedded-in-pdf
Sometimes when exporting to PDF I notice that the some gradients or alpha data doesn't get exported correctly. I still want to print on a different computer. I end up exporting a png, then starting swriter and exporting to PDF. For this reason I suggest adding a "embed current page as png in a pdf document with given dpi resolution" save-as option for convenience. This does not fix the PDF export but could be a nice workaround.

[2014-11-01 ~suv] Why not print to PDF file (unless you use Inkscape on Windows - on other platforms this option is present in the print dialog), with the print rendering options set to raster?
Correction: the option is called 'Bitmap' (on the 'Rendering' page of the print dialog), and allows to set dpi (for rasterization) for the current 'Print to File' job.
