A gallery dialog/dock item for Inkscape

Sometimes when working on a project in Inkscape I find myself having to import items from one location quite frequently.

For example when I work on an application mockup, I often need to import icons, which are all in one directory. Currently I do this by having my file manager open, and dragging across the files, however this is not an optimal solution.

I propose for there to be a 'Gallery' dialog/dock item, that allows a user to select a directory to look at. Then a list of all files that can be imported in that directory should be shown, each with a thumbnail preview of that file.

Files should then be able to be imported by double clicking that item in the list, clicking the import button, or dragging over the item in the list onto the canvas.
