The "Create stars and polygons" only has those two shapes. I am proposing more shapes like boxes with rounded corners, pedals, octogons, and a triangles. One of those I listed would be nice.

Most of the shapes you listed can already be created as parametrized objects that allow on-canvas editing by dragging handles that vary some of the tool controls bar options.

I am not sure about about the pedals, but there are several extensions in Inkscape 0.47(pre) that should cover most needs with the only limitation that the generated objects are (grouped) paths not shapes ('Draw from triangle', 'Function Plotter', 'Parametric Curves', 'Spirograph', 'Triangle' …).
