Create an initial presence

I am happy to have people experiment with 'invasive' changes; I've done so in the past, and do so presently, and anticipate continuing to do so -- here, to me, invasive means swapping out:
        kernel
        ?libc?
        rpm[5]

anything else is just details toward leaf node packages and their dependencies ;)
