ZTP of Greenfield devices using CFM
This blueprint describes support for ZTP (zero touch provisioning) of greenfield devices using CFM (Contrail Fabric Manager).
Problem Statement
================
In case of a greenfield setup the devices are being turned on for the first time or are at factory reset settings. The underlay network has not been setup yet. CFM should to be able to manage these devices, send some base configuration, run image upgrade, discover the topology, onboard the devices and setup the underlay network to ready these devices for setting up the overlay network.
Solution
=======
To enable ZTP, CFM should manage the devices and configure them. CFM will use the vendor specific DHCP options to send a base config. To achieve this it needs a DHCP server and TFTP server that can be configured to assign IPs to the devices and send the necessary DHCP options. The TFTP server will provide the script to do the base config. After the initial IP assignment, CFM will discover, import and onboard the devices.
