Split tabs to columns

We could have another modebutton to split the current set of tabs to a column set.

Like the dual pane nautilus system (F3), but splitting tabs (possibly lots of them).

If something like this does make it in, it might be worth toggling all 'open in new tab' menu entries (etc.) such that when in a columnar/split view mode, they read 'open in new column'. For the sake of clarity.
