Consider replacing monolithic Partner repo with PPAs
I have discussed this concept with many people who would be involved in such a process (Michael Vogt, Zaid, Julien, etc...) and they have all greeted the idea fairly warmly.
Right now we have a monolithic Partner repository hosted on archive.
I would like to discuss the possibility of replacing Partner with a conglomeration of these "blessed" PPAs. It provides the following benefits:
1.) Partners can update their own packages
2.) For non-free software, we can monetize the private PPA service and subsequent listing in Software Center
3.) It provides us an easier path to selling software via Private PPAs as we can simply sell login access to the PPA rather than having to host it on Shop/Vault.
