PEP-8 code style compliance

Make the code compliant with http://www.python.org/dev/peps/pep-0008/

This means at the very least replacing all the tabs by four (4) spaces, and running the pep8 tool (apt:///pep8 ; see also https://launchpad.net/pep8) on the code to find out what needs fixing.
