Converter XML implementation

How about implementing one class (only one method for converting) for all converters which convert using linear function y=k*x+n? All standard conversions use this function and it would be good and easy to add new converters just adding few lines in XML file. Special converters like hex/dec/oct converters will have their own classe with unique conversion method.
