Option to scan text mode (lower resolution) but in colour

The scan modes offered by simple scan are too limited. I know, it's supposed to be "simple", but just text or photo aren't sufficient. Many times I'm happy with "text" resolution, but with colour.

Note that this requirement would be less urgent if the colour scan mode did not generate such huge outputs. E.g. I scanned a document and the saved (single page) file was 25M when in photo mode. In text mode it's just 65K. It's much worse than could be predicted based on bits density and bits-per-pixel.
