Eventually, it might be a nice idea to actually build off of a pre-made PDF/Document reader (Evince is a pretty good one, Okular is excellent as well) in which the user can directly download the "Book" and read right away.
One convenient part of doing this would actually be for mobile devices, especially ones on the Android and Ubuntu Mobile platforms. An on-the-go person could easily download an important book on something that he needs, and pretty much read it on his way to whatever he's doing. This would be ideal for lectures, business ventures, etc.

the problem with this is that we are writing a desktop app, that would require serious porting to get else where.
