Make synaptic being able to refine search to make it more useful for very newcomer

After performing a search in synaptic it is likely to obtain results related to a lot of programs and libreries. Many more than the application you were probably searching.
It should be nice to have a feature that would be able to filter the results display only the most probable applications you are searching. Common users are not interesting in libraries and those stuff.
An illustrative example. 'k3b' default search returns 8 results. Could we enable a 'tick' so that it returns just one, the program itself?

gnome-app-install does this same thing.
Anyway, synaptic needs a better search engine so that you can find what you want easily.
