Automated GUI Test Framework

Registered by Ian Lawrence

Running automated UI testing with dogtail or LDTP is impossible on MID. See this bug:
https://bugs.edge.launchpad.net/moblin-ui-framework/+bug/155927
After recent 30/10/2008 IRC discussion it seems dogtail should just work on ubuntu-mobile as it uses a gnome desktop not hildon. (Confirmed 19/11/2008 if compiz is turned off) but is still missing for MID.
There is a Nokia project http://hildon-test-aut.garage.maemo.org/ which is a port of Dogtail to Hildon so maybe this work could be used?

Scripts need to be written for the main applications on MID, Mobile, ARM and then a script run at DIF, one at FF, one at Beta, and one at RC is probably sensible.
So, roughly, a dogtail run in late January, late February, mid March and mid April

Enabling this brings the additional benefit of accessibility support for all applications which is important given the Ubuntu Promise
