A better Unity 6.0 launcher for Ubuntu 12.10

Hey,
Currently there are still a few people that are not pleased about the current unity launcher.
As the launcher is the most important widget on the desktop for a daily user, correct me if I'm wrong, it should have a pleasant design.
I target this for Ubuntu 12.10, but I dont know if there is enough time / manpower for this time.
