Open Input Framework Architecture for Natty
There are a handful of driving forces behind a (previously planned) refactoring of the OIF architecture for the next development cycle:
1) The MT protocol making it into xorg (XInput 2.1)
2) The need for applications to be running the same versions of OIF
3) The need for a single instance of the gesture engine to be running on the system at any given time
We need to discuss how each of these affects the toolkits, our API plans, and future development. At the end of the week, the discussions will have provided enough background for us to discuss this with a good understanding of the potential impacts for any given architectural choice.
