Making apport useful for upstreams
Right now apport is very Ubuntu specific:
- It already has an abstract packaging interface, but this became inconsistent due to some last-minute Feisty fixes.
- Launchpad Ubuntu URLs are hardcoded into the code.
We invited the Gnome upstream crash report maintainers for Sevilla and should look out for possible improvements and collaboration: How to make apport useful for them? Any chance to merge it with bug-buddy?

Whiteboard
factorization and abstraction of CrashDatabase implemented and in gutsy; data format specification written and submitted for review to upstream
We did everything to be done on the Ubuntu side, now being blocked for upstream's review comments and actually moving towards that data format.
pitti, 2009-05-27: apport is an upstream project, used in Ubuntu and OpenSUSE, currently being ported to Pardus, available for Fedora.
