Support for migration of 32 bit based installations to 64 bit based systems

At least for AMD K8 (AMD64, Turion and Opteron based systems) users there should be an option to arch-upgrade their previously x86-32 installation to a x86-64 architecture based system. There are users that dumped their previously x86-32 installation of a x86-32 based system on a x86-64 based system and would like to arch-upgrade their installation without reinstalling it.
