[asac Jun 10]: steve, what did we decide on this spec? maybe we can make this a lightweight one, that references pittis work and then ensure that the apt/dpkg and live-helper changes required to strip this down would be ok? We could also realise the ubuntu-minimal-linaro seed that pitti suggested on his wiki page to make this more complete. the starting point is here: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/ReducingDiskFootprint
