GivebountiesForClean&IntelligentBug-Fixes
Ubuntu has MANY bugs...and more every release (as to be expected). Why not set-up a bounty system for lower priority bugs...WITHOUT neglecting them (so that if no one takes the challenge the devs won't ignore it); the idea is that some programmer anywhere (and I'm specifically thinking of students) could be guided by Ubuntu devs/enthusiasts and learn the system/code etc...and take-up, track, and fix bugs in things for reasonable compensation: and think about the potential here for 3rd-world computer-able persons who have the skills but no other income; I think we could set-up a stash of cash through pay-pal donations towards this endeavor...and let it accrue interest for this, or to hire more devs to fix things. It's the LITTLE things that people often appreciate...the million little details that make things complete. Like Gnome starting-up faster, VPNC not crashing nm-applet...or the cursor not dissapearing at the edge of the right margin in open-office! These are actually a few of often-sought improvements.
