Domain profiles on Ubuntu Desktop

Some previous work exists on applications that help to define desktop profiles on Gnome, like Pessulus [0], Sabayon [1] and the new Ubuntu Tweak [2]. These applications are good for single desktop profile management but when it comes to medium-sized or enterprise level, they are not enough. One of the aims of Zentyal Desktop is to provide a centralised LDAP-based configuration repository for domain-wide desktop policies and profiles. Zentyal Desktop will provide a framework that enables the community to define a new policies.
