Instant copying of files over the network without extra setup
Currently, if you just want to send a file from one computer to another, this always requires a certain extent of configuration. One can either send a file over ftp, samba, nfs, e-mail or instant messaging. All of these methods require some configuration. It would be quite easy to start a server under a user's account that can receive files, and maybe uses the obex protocol. This server would announce itself on the network over avahi. It could be similar to gnome-obex-server, but with tcp receiving support instead of bluetooth only. The nautilus-sendto function could include a "Send to another computer" option that browses the network for avahi-announced obex servers. The current state of openobex still needs some work in order to allow starting a server on a high-port, because it is currently fixed to port 650 which can only be used by root users.
