OpenJDK packages in Ubuntu/Linaro are currently based on Hotspot build18, with the ARM assembler interpreter integrated, while other architectures are using Hotspot build 20 in natty. The two versions need a higher maintenance overhead, and should be replaced by one version in time for Ubuntu 12.04. The session is about evaluating updating the ARM assembler interpreter to current Hotspot versions, or finding viable JVM alternatives
