Implement DVB features (SCAN, PLAY, EPG, TELETEXT, RECORD, SUBTITLES, AUDIO SELECT) into totem or a new app
Currently the Ubuntu main repository doesn't have a DVB software to watch TV. Let's bring totem to this!

the best thing might be a gstreamer backend, since now gstreamer is the default in ubuntu.
It is really needed a software that does not need the channels.conf file
Kaffeine can scan and play from DVB cards, though it is a good example to follow, unfortunately it is a KDE app.
gxine and totem-xine cannot scan (at least when I looked at them).
