Live filesystem build transparency

Registered by Matt Zimmerman

As of Ubuntu 5.10, the live filesystem build process is rather opaque. Build failures can only be noticed by polling the log file from inside the firewall, and the logs are not accessible to developers. The logs should be publicly accessible, and failures should be reported to a mailing list, be monitored by buildd admins, and result in timely bug reports.

Whiteboard

This specification has been implemented in the current infrastructure, by publishing build logs to people.ubuntu.com, and mailing failed logs to the buildd porters alias (currently LaMont and Adam)

Furthermore, the future Launchpad implementation is being described by a series of Launchpad specifications starting with https://launchpad.net/products/launchpad/+spec/distrorelease-tasks and followed by https://launchpad.net/products/launchpad/+spec/live-cd-image-generation. They should cover the distro team expectation and use the current launchpad infrastructure.
