Instead of forcing users to use the network browser in nautilus, use cifs to mount a network share under /media/ and allow quicker access to these shares.

And also make a permanet mapping simple as in Windows. Many friends of mine left Ubuntu because they were unable to play music from remote drives without editing fstab or choosing paths manually at every reboot.
