Mobile-chat is a chat application customized specially for use on Mobile Internet Device. It's based on Empathy which uses telepathy-mission-control and connection manager for each supported instant message protocol with help of telepathy spec.

Currently it supports gTalk.

Many changes have been made to get it work smooth on a Mobile Internet Device.

It works with Hildon. Specially it has hildon app look and feel and it's launched with libosso so that it will be launched once in one time and present to top of desktop if trying to run twice.

Many small but important UI experience improvements have been made so that it works much more user-friendly under small size screen of touch only. Some dialogs especially accounts edit dialog fits into MID screen size. If there is no account enabled then account dialog rather than contact window is presented to user. User is prompted with a confirmation dialog if he tries to quit account dialog without any accounts enabled.

http security proxy is supported.
