Official USB Stick Distro?
Flash USB drives are much faster than CD's---and also a lot easier to carry around. A 2GB drive costs around $10-$15, and probably half this next year. They are also more universal---many notebooks don't have a CD drive anymore. Now, there are about 542 different descriptions on the web of how this can be done oneself, some work, others do not. For the average user, figuring out which method wors and is the correct one is not obvious. also, this is a painful process, because trial and error here requires reboots. so, why not have an official USB stick image distro, which is installed the same way as "zcat netboot.img.gz > /dev/usbdrive" [which I found under the Feisty documentation tree]? perhaps with an official utility for windows that can do this on a windows, too? this image should be as prominent as the CD downloads on the download page.
