Make screen resolution easy to do
Hi,
From experience, screen resolution is a serious problem with Ubuntu. Many times it isn't possible to set the correct screen resolution. New ubuntu users encounter this problems and think that poor screens settings = slow computer / poor design.
The screen resolution interface should allow you to set the correct screen settings without having to edit the x-org config.
You should also be able to check the screen settings and confirm then ( which has been available in Windows since 1998 ).
Finally, if the correct screen resolution can't be set the program should give a reason - i.e. We don't have the right drivers etc.
Let me know if you need more help,
Yours,
James
