Slow the mouse while hovering over an icon to aid in usability

I don't know if this would help any, but what if the mouse was slowed while it was on or near an icon, just a little bit. This would avoid overshooting the icon, but it might just be more trouble than it's worth. Maybe there could be an option to enable/disable it?
