Implementing a Tv card wizard to set appropriately kernel modules

As authomatical recognition of tv cards is very poor in Ubuntu 7.10, it should be nice to set up a wizard to let the user configure bttv, saa7134 or similar modules without having to write the appropriate strings in the configuration files. the wizard should ask simply for the manifacturer and the name of the tv card (optionally the tuner if the card is not in the list) and provide the corresponding code (using modprobe for immediate configuration) . the same wizard could inform the user about the address of the created devices (like dev/video0, dev/radio, dev/dvb/adapter0...).
