* Find Hardware - Look up hardware you already own. Make a pre-purchase decision on hardware thats doesn't advertise it's Linux compatibility status. Developers can be matched with hardware testers.
* Find Answers - Hardware doesn't work - Find a fix/solution/bug. Upload your hardware info, rate your hardware. Share or find a solution to your hardware issue.
* Device manager [1] give an graphical overview of hardware, driver used, related checkbox test, Ubuntu Friendly rating, and the ability to report a bug.
Benefits:
-Get an idea of component popularity/issues.
-Make a pre-purchase decision by booting LiveCD then going to System Settings > System Info.
-Rate your hardware components (Ubuntu Friendly).
-Report/Link a bug about a specific component. (Ubuntu Friendly-
-Find issues related to your component, leading to a fix/solution.
Ubuntu Friendly currently rates entire systems, not specific components (video card, sound card, wireless card). For this to work, we would need a per component page where we could link components to open bugs and post any workarounds or solutions centrally. This would help the user immensely as it simplifies the process of reporting, identifying and correcting hardware issues.
