Oh... PPP support in Ubuntu is awful. We need a new tool, that will help you to make a dial-up, pppoe or vpn connection. Both for KDE and GNOME. And we need a program, that will help you to attach ppp connections to virtual interfaces.
NetworkManager is pretty good, but it hasn`t got support for Static Network Connections.
