Fallback session option

Registered by JC Hulce

The GNOME 3 team has already done this: the package is called gnome-session-fallback and is in their PPA. It needs to be added as a dependency in ugr-meta.

A session option that forces a fallback to original gnome.

It may be possible to use gnome-stracciatella-session, http://packages.ubuntu.com/natty/gnome-stracciatella-session

Whiteboard

We are moving to the GNOME 3 team's version. ugr-fallback-session will be abandoned. gnome-session-fallback is now a dependency in dev channel ugr-meta

Why not use the Ubuntu Classic session to start? The package mentioned above ships a session option in a package, which can easily be engineered to fit our needs. Both are currently broken, but the classic session can only be fixed by modifying the gnome-session package, which we don't want to do.
