Better updater through patches

Instead of downloading the whole file we could only pull down the diff's needed to bring the files up to date.
Not sure how to do this for windows binaries and say, for user on 0.38 to update 0.42.1
I mean, would they download .38 -> .39; .39 -> 0.40; .40 -> .41 etc etc or just .38 -> .41
